ABOUT JOHN D. CARLSON...
My experience in sculpting faux rock began in
September of 1986 creating artificial habitats for zoos and
aquariums. Since then I have continually striven for a
higher degree of detail in emulating the beautiful and
sometimes bizarre facets of nature. To study nature is
to view a world of art continually in progress. |
Mother Earth, through her use of wind, water,
heat, cold, and powerful geological upheavals, provides a
multitude of forms and color pallets that have inspired
artists the world over. To this end, I have dedicated my
life in pursuit of perfecting the perfect imperfections of
nature.
